Stylist Secrets: 5 Top Hollywood Stylist Tips for Taming Frizzy Hair

Is your hair becoming more frizzy as the weather heats up? You’re not alone! The heat and humidity might be to blame, perhaps your hair is dry and needs extra care, or perhaps your hair just has a mind of its own as the seasons change. We speak with three Hollywood hair stylists on how to prevent, manage and tame frizzy hair, whatever the cause.

  1. Restore your hair’s moisture levels

Replenishing your hair with moisturising ingredients is the first step to warding off frizz. “When hair becomes frizzy, it usually means there is a lack of moisture and natural oil available,” explains pro hair stylist Barry Lee Moe. “It’s important to restore that moisture with a HASK 5-in-1 Leave-in Spray or one of the many restorative HASK Hair Oils.”

  1. Layer your haircare

Is the higher humidity frizzing up your strands? Seal in your style and lock out frizz with this top tip from pro hair stylist Cheryl Marks: “I have worked in many humid cities during the summer months. What I have found to work is to layer on your products. I give my actors shampoo and conditioner that will help to reduce frizz, then style with a 5-in-1 Leave-in Spray and use a bit of the Hair Oil section by section as I style.”

  1. Add argan oil to your haircare

“Argan Oil is naturally hydrating, so it is extremely effective at delivering fast moisture and shine to dry, frizzy hair,” explains Barry Lee Moe. “I place a small, pea-sized dab of the HASK Argan Oil Miracle Damage Repair Cream in my hands and warm it up before gently smoothing it over the top layer of the hair, from the mid-shaft to ends. It will immediately eliminate those pesky flyaways and frizz.”

  1. Prep your hair with products

Barry Lee Moe says properly preventing frizz is all about hair product and prep. “Always prep your hair with one of the amazing HASK 5-in-1 Leave-in Conditioners and let your hair air dry whenever possible. If you start your day with the Keratin Protein 5-in-1 Leave-in Spray, your hair will be set up for success. Once it’s styled, I like to use a Hair Oil to revive the hair and maintain the frizz.”

  1. Smooth with a hair oil

Want to rid that pesky top layer of frizz and flyaways for a movie star-worthy finish? Use a HASK Hair Oil for your finishing touches. Pro hair stylist Linda Flowers says: “My top tip for frizz on-set is to use one of the HASK Hair Oils. The HASK Coconut Oil Hair Oil is a favourite with my celebrity clients, such as from The Fast and the Furious and the soon-to-be-released Dungeons & Dragons. My personal favourite for my hair is the HASK Keratin Protein Smoothing Hair Oil shine treatment.”
